Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating maintenance jobs within the team of technicians, including production equipment and utilities, to ensure and maintain optimum operation of the production processes and lines. Contribute to the safety of persons and goods within the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage staff within the team of technicians, working closely with maintenance supervisors
Promote training and development to optimize and impart technical skills
Define a preventive maintenance and corrective strategy on production equipment to avoid breakdowns that lead to loss of production
Plan interventions and work to be done in tandem with production scheduling
Enforce the completion deadlines at the site for effective coordination of multiple participants
Assist the Senior Maintenance Manager in establishing the operating budgets for the department
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety and work rules
Ensure the maintenance of a good social climate within the team
Ensure the timeliness of repairs on equipment
Assist Production Department as needed (repair breakages, make alterations, upgrade equipment)
Ensure technical documentation is updated
Identify the choice of spare parts necessary for the proper functioning of the equipment, working closely to the Planner and Spare Parts Supervisor
Participate in research, study, design of future materials in consultation with users
Ensure maximum standardization of equipment
Follow up on performance of the work at the site or at the premises of the sub-contractor
Participate in the approval of the equipment after their industrial commissioning, attend start up and optimize the operation
Ensure that suppliers provide technical documentation (manuals, maps, diagrams, parts lists)
Check the level of performance of the equipment supplied against the specifications and comply with legislation in relation to machine conformity and environmental protection

Participate in the develop and the maintenance of procedures and instructions for the department and monitor compliance and the proper performance
Follows and leads all Good Manufacturing Practices , food safety and sanitation procedures
Leads continuous improvement actions
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Maintenance or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
7 or more years of maintenance and engineering experience in a complex, fast paced manufacturing environment.
Technological expertise (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, machining, and technical drawing)
Must have intermediate skills with MS Word and Excel
Requires strong oral, written, and communication skills
English required, and French a plus

Working Conditions: Work is performed partly in both an office and manufacturing environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
